Youth & Mental Health

According to Kenyan government statistics at least 1 in 4 Kenyans suffer from mental illness in their lives. Kenya and Africa as a whole, stigma on mental illness has caused many people to suffer in silence.

In Africa mental issues are attributed to either witchcraft or spiritual problems. Budgetary allocation for mental health is less than 1% of health budget thus leaving the mental equation completely overstretched. Some of the major disorders in Kenya are mental, behavioral and personality disorders.
